May saw the launch of this year's Summer School camps, run by SAVE Trust as part of the Chennai after-school tuition project.

The aim is to engage young people of different ages across Chennai in fun activities which also help them to develop social skills and inspire creativity.

Not only do the tuition centres provide children with academic help in literacy, numeracy, and general school work, but they also run programmes on Computer Skills, Social Skills, and WASH. Not to mention running creative competitions, including a science exhibition!

The dropout rate from school of children who come from low-income families is very high so the aim of this work is to create learning support in a fun and engaging environment to support children, helping them to stay in school and get their qualifications.
