The Wings of Hope Achievement Award is a scheme offered to UK students that enables you and your friends to be creative in managing your own wacky events all in the name of charity!
WOHAA is a unique challenge for students that not only helps you to develop skills needed beyond the academic arena, but also provides an opportunity to make a direct and long lasting difference on the lives of children in the developing world!
WOHAA truly is an award BY students, FOR students…
We encourage creativity and innovation, so be as crazy as you like!
Forget walking from door to door grinning manically as your elderly neighbours shy away in fear and hiding the rest of their pensions in their mattresses! Forget wearing a brightly coloured bib and accosting people on the street as they fake a phone call! This is an opportunity to actually make a real difference by having fun!
What’s more, you can see exactly where your money goes to, as we offer the chance for your team to win an all-expenses paid trip to India to visit our charity projects in action!
WOHAA is split into four main stages:
Stage One: Register online by 30th of November
First and foremost is registration. Simply organise your team and fill in the entry form above to get started!
Your WOHAA journey begins by your team brainstorming some crazy fundraising ideas. Previous participants have advised that you get yourselves organised ASAP as you only have until February to carry out your events.
The main categories you will work towards are:
More information can be found in the WOHAA Welcome Pack and the WOHAA Fundraising Pack
Stage Two: The ‘Snapshot Project’ Report Submitted in February
You will need to record all your experiences and fundraising adventures in a ‘Snapshots Project’ which can be presented to us in the form of a scrap book, PP presentation, video or even a rap!
Things to include…
You will need to send everything in along with a Snapshots Submission Form to reach us by the deadline.

Stage Three: The Semi-Finals at the House of Lords in March
From all the Snapshots Projects we receive, the best projects will be short-listed and those teams will be invited to the Semi-Finals at the House of Lords. These teams/individuals will be invited to give a five minute presentation of their project and present their WOHAA journey to our distinguished panel of judges, with a short question and answer session at the end. Have a look here at the WOHAA 2011-2012 semi-finals.
Stage Four: The Annual Award Ceremony in June
The Annual Awards Ceremony is a fun filled, glitzy evening in celebration of all the hard work and efforts of everyone that has taken part in WOHAA. The overall winners of WOHAA receive their amazing prize of a trip to a far flung corner of the world. This will all take place at a top London venue with all the Wings of Hope volunteers, patrons, and associates attending, as well as hundreds of WOHAA participants, teachers and parents from across the country!
