WOHAA Semi-Finals 2014

On Tuesday 29th April 2014, 34 lucky WOHAA teams took to the stage at the House of Lords to present in front of the panel of judges at the WOHAA 2014 Semi-Finals. Battling through the London Underground strikes, teams arrived at Millbank House to present their fundraising efforts to the distinguished panel of judges

 

Panellists this year included: Sir David Jason (legendary actor), Sean Biggerstaff (actor- Oliver Wood in Harry Potter films), Sophie Kinsella (author – Confessions of a Shopaholic), Alok Sharma (MP Reading West), Christopher Sandamas (Chief Clerk, Buckingham Palace), Amur Lakshmi (Tata Consultancy Services global leadership team), John Thornhill (Deputy Editor, The Financial Times), Lady Elizabeth Roberts (Dean of Studies for Scholars at Oxford University) and Baroness Verma.

Team STEP (Collingwood College) giving it their all

The standard of presentations was exceptionally high, with students recounting their fundraising events to the delight of the judging panel. Events included a 24-hour bake-a-thon, a sponsored swim the equivalent length of the English Channel, fusion concerts, a Bollywood Ball, and International Food Cafe, sponsored walks, an online auction, a 100km cycle and even a 24-hour famine! The Award Ceremony for WOHAA 2014 is due to take place on Friday 2nd May when the winners and runners up for the six WOHAA categories will be announced.

 

Each team was given five minutes to present followed by a brief Q&A session with the judges.
