Our Projects - UK:WOHAA

The Wings of Hope seeks to stimulate education in its broadest sense not just in India and Malawi, but also in the UK. In 2004, the Founders of The Wings of Hope, Dr R Sri Ram and Mrs Rajni Sriram instituted an Achievement Award to stimulate the skills and talents of UK secondary school students.

These skills and talents include entrepreneurship, teamwork and social responsibility – essential elements, they thought, of any well-rounded personality, but not taught under the strict remits of the national curriculum.

The Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA) was conceived and designed by a team of gap year students, enlisted by the Founders. The students dreamed up an Award that they would have liked to participate in, when they were at school. The WOHAA therefore truly is…

An Award designed BY students, FOR students!

The WOHAA is an excellent vehicle for students aged 14 to 18 to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and social awareness, and to be recognised and rewarded for their fundraising achievements.
