Our volunteers are a vital part of our organisation. The charity would not exists if it wasn’t for the students and young people that help support us.
The young boys pictured left kindly volunteered at our award ceremony in April.
Meet some of our current volunteers!
The Wings of Hope Achievement Award is a social enterprise award scheme like no other. WOHAA gives UK students the opportunity to develop key skills whilst raising awareness about the educational projects we have in developing countries as well as giving them an opportunity the volunteer their time to a charitable cause.
“Their fundraising endeavours have been varied in scale and nature – from ‘Teachers’ Secrets’ quizzes to charity auctions – but in all their endeavours Wings of Hope have provided superb support and encouragement. [...] I can think of few contexts in which young people learn to give generously and receive so much in return.” Dr Claire Seymour, Head of the Senior College, Queen’s College London.
We learnt so much from this experience especially how to be independent and how to stand on our own two feet. We really began to believe in ourselves as individuals and build up our confidence, and it made us all better friends. Shaya Pabani, WOHAA Participant.
Interns and volunteers largely contribute to our office’s goals. Their help is crucial in facilitating our projects and enriching the charity with new ideas. A complete training is provided at the beginning of the working period.
“Working at The Wings of Hope has been a really valuable experience. It gave me a precious insight in the working environment and it helped me developing key skills, for example, acquiring confidence on the phone. The people I worked with were always great! They were really helpful when I needed, and, at the same time, they made me develop my own skills by letting me working independently.” Guilia, Office Intern.
Many people have found different ways of supporting us. Joining our London 10 km RUN, cycling from London to Paris, or simply raising awareness about our projects are helpful ways through which volunteers have got involved!
Thank you to Clare who ran the Superhero run in aid of Wings of Hope recently (pictured below).

There are different ways through which you can support our charity, gain new experiences, and bring about a positive change! Why not find your own way?
